Parents and friends of the graduating seniors of Viewmont High School in Bountiful filled Symphony Hall Tuesday night for the school's commencement exercise.

Two of the Class of 1992's six valedictorians, Ammon Fager and Kristina Erickson, spoke for their class. Graduates were urged to use their experiences at Viewmont to build successful lives.Principal Paul Waite presented the graduating class to Davis School Board member Louenda Downs, who in turn presented the graduating seniors with their diplomas.

Among the graduates are four National Merit Scholars and nine National Merit commended students. The four are John V. Mayer, Daniel P. Wendel, Gregory N. Nielson and William B. Ince.

The nine commended students are Wendy L. Arbuckle, Wade S. Crandall, Ammon Fager, John S. Fluhman, Christian P. George, Nathan D. Harrison, Catherine Rees, Shaunna L. Riggs and Tamara Talbot.

A musical presentation was given by Monica Yardley, the school's first runner-up in the state in the music division of the Sterling Scholars competition.

Other musical presentations in the ceremony were "On My Way to You" by the Viewmont Concert Choir; "Someone Like You" by the Madrigals; and "Let's Begin Again," also by the concert choir.
