Norman Lear's past two television series have been decided flops but he's still trying to re-create the magic he had with "All in the Family."

In an interview in Architectural Digest, Lear said he wants to create a show that will capture the spirit of the times. "I intend to deliver the family of the '90s," Lear said. "They are fairly rootless, somewhat soulless and searching for the soul they lost."As is usually the case with Lear's sitcoms, his liberal politics will be showing. "I'm angrier than ever," he said. "The decibel level (in the new TV family) will be as high as it was in the Bunkers. There's a lot to be angry about these days. But remember, what most people call anger, I call a celebration of life."
