Comedian Pat Paulsen may have reached the zenith of his political career in the North Dakota primary. Paulsen, who mounts a tongue-in-cheek presidential campaign every four years, was running second to President Bush in the state's Republican primary.

Turnout was low, but at one point Bush had 6,550 votes, while Paulsen was second with 677.
