Reva Black Slye, 80, of Salem, died Tuesday, June 9, 1992 in the Mountain View Hospital in Payson of natural causes.She was born on June 2, 1912 in Richfield, the daughter of Charles Thomas and Vinnie Sudweeks Black. She married Mack Amos Slye Nov. 30, 1934 in Farmington, Utah; he passed away Feb. 26, 1974. She was educated in Marysville and graduated from Marysville High School. She also attended Snow College for two years and later attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary education.
She was employed by Granite School District for 29 years as a homebound school teacher. She served on charity drives from many charitable organization for many years.
Survivors includes one son: Mack Charles and Joyce Slye, of Salem; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. in the Salem 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 25 West Apple Blossom Way, Salem. Friends may call at the ward Relief Society room Saturday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery, under the direction of the Walker Mortuary, Spanish Fork.
