A Davis School District psychologist was scheduled for arraignment Thursday afternoon in 2nd Circuit Court on three charges involving sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl in his home.

Donald Persson was arrested Friday in a raid on his home by Bountiful Police, who reported finding photos and other evidence involving the young girl, according to police.Persson was hired by the school district in January to work with behaviorally disadvantaged students. A background check of Persson, who came to Utah from California, showed no evidence of any problems, according to school district officials.

Persson is charged with rape of a child and sodomy upon a child, both first-degree felonies, and sexual exploitation of a child, a third-degree felony, according to court records.
