Six formal public hearings will occur in August on the initial phase of plans to return wolves to Yellowstone Park and central Idaho, says U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director John Turner.

Wyoming's congressional delegation joined four other Republican members of Congress last month in requesting the hearings.Turner said the hearings will be in Salt Lake City, Boise and Seattle, as well as Washington, D.C.; Cheyenne, Wyo.; and Helena, Mont. Exact dates, times and locations have not been set.
