Superintendent Steven H. Peterson of the Washington School District has begun a term as president of the Utah School Superintendents Association.

He was elected by superintendents in the state's 40 districts. He will head the annual Summer Leadership Training Workshop and preside at monthly superintendents' meetings.

Peterson also becomes co-chairman of the Legislative Committee, along with the president of the Utah School Boards Association. The committee will develop legislative proposals relating to education.

Recently, Peterson attended an educational leadership training program for new presidents and executive directors in the 50 states. The sessions were held in Orlando, Fla.
