Now that summer vacation has arrived, teens who are too old to go to camp - but too young for a paid job - might consider volunteer work.

"150 Ways Teens Can Make a Difference" by Marian Salzman and Teresa Reisgies (Peterson's Guides, $7.95 soft-cover) is designed bot as a source of ideas and as a guide to volunteer employment.Among the book's suggestions: work at a local recycling center, park, zooor animal shelter; volunteer at a children's hospital or a rehabilitation center; coach a basketball team or teach a swimming class.

The book includes profiles of teens who have successfully matche volunteer activities with their personalities and interests. There personalities and interest. There is also a state-by-state listing of not-for-profit organizations that encourge teen volunteerism.
