To the editor:

During the day, June 1, after several days of digging and post-setting, etc., my neighbor brought in a horse and placed it in the new corral - clearly in violation of Salt Lake County zoning law, which prohibits a horse in this residential area.Next morning, I entered a complaint, which resulted in a notice to the horse owner that by June 16 the violation must be corrected.

Word is out that the horse owner plans to show the Zoning Board that she has a right to have the animal. This could take weeks to resolve. In the meantime, the horse remains, much to our discomfort.

Salt Lake County Zoning rejects my contention that the horse has no right to remain while the arguments proceed. How can it be right, or fair, for the horse owner to be allowed such an advantage over the offended party? Help, help, someone. Gas masks and insect screen for our lawn-visitor area, at least.
