Wanted for kidnapping and extortion.
Richard William Loveless is suspected of kidnapping a Salt Lake woman from her home on March 31. He transported the woman against her will across state lines to Nevada.
On April 2, 1992, Loveless and the victim returned to Salt Lake City, where the victim managed to escape from Loveless. She immediately reported her abduction to the Salt Lake police and FBI. Since her escape, the victim has received several letters from Loveless, mailed from various states. In the letters, Loveless threatens physical harm toward her and her family.
The letters also indicated that Loveless planned to return to Utah. The most recent letter was post marked April 16 and appears to have been mailed from Salt Lake City.
Loveless was featured in the Most Wanted column in April but has not been apprehended. FBI agents believe he is traveling widely. He is known to use several aliases and Social Security numbers.
