The departure of two key employees at Intermountain Health Care has necessitated some changes in several management positions, according to Scott S. Parker, president.
David H. Jeppson, who will retire in 1993, and Dr. David A. Burton, senior vice president, who will leave in July on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, have made the changes necessary.Neither Jeppson nor Burton will be replaced on the Management Committee. The committee now consists of Parker; Cecil Samuelson, William Nelson and Steven Kohlert, all senior vice presidents.
Kohlert will have new responsibility for the ongoing education of the trustees of the IHC hospital governing boards. He will continue to be responsible for legal and government relations, mission services, public relations and advertising.
Nelson will have new responsibility for information systems, human resources, research and development, and contracts. He will continue to be responsibile for IHC health plans, financial planning and strategic marketing.
Samuelson will have new responsibility for the rural hospital region, finance, shared services and affiliated services. He will continue his responsibility for medical affairs, professional services and urban hospitals.
Burton's responsibility for research and development has been assigned to vice president Greg Poulsen.
IHC officials announced that John Rich, previously vice president of IHC health plans, has been appointed vice president of ambulatory network development.
IHC operates 24 hospitals, clinics, home health agencies, women's centers, a blood bank, drug dependency units and health-insurance plans.
