Soveida Marie Gallegos, age 67, passed away Friday, June 12, 1992 in Bountiful due to a lingering illness.
She was born April 16, 1925 in Taos, New Mexico, a daughter of Santiago and Cornelia Cruz Miera. She married Toby Joe Gallegos, June 6, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada; marriage later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. She was raised and educated in New Mexico and lived in the Layton area the past 40 years. She was a member of the LDS Church, Layton 9th Ward. She had been active in Relief Society and Primary and was a visiting teacher.Surviving are her husband, Layton; two sons and two daughters, Ray A. Norton and Ronald L. and Madalyn A. Norton, all of Layton; Judy M. Payne, Kaysville; Mrs. Joseph B. and Linda K. Cooper, Clearfield; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; also her mother, Brownsburg, Ind.; two brothers and two sisters, Alberto O. Miera, Penasco, New Mexico; Santiago Jaime (Jimmy) Miera, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Eulalia Rodriguez, Taos, New Mexico; Magalena Ruby McBrierty, Brownsburg, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside, Monday, 2 p.m., at Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton with Bishop Jim Wood officiating. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 No. Fairfield Rd., and Monday, 12:45-1:45 p.m.
