Thousands of demonstrators filled University Square in Bucharest, Romania, Saturday to demand the resignation of President Ion Iliescu and commemorate the second anniversary of a pro-government riot that left six dead.

Shouting "Down with Iliescu" and "We don't want a Bolshevik president anymore," about 2,500 demonstrators blocked traffic in the square.Members of the Bucharest University Students League accused the ruling National Salvation Front of using Communist practices and betraying the December 1989 revolution that toppled dictator Nicolae Ceausescu.
