To the editor:

I thought the "Murphy Brown" speech by Dan Quayle was right on the mark. Isn't it strange that 90 percent of the television writers cannot build a program around any subject except hookers, homosexuals, bed hopping or bad cops.We used to have writers who could produce shows like "I Love Lucy," "The Brady Bunch," "All in the Family" and "The Cosby Show."

I wonder how many young lives have been ruined by a steady diet of immoral and perverted TV shows. Everybody from Jesse Jackson to Mrs. Clinton likes to bash Dan Quayle, with the media probably being the worst offender; but Dan was right, and I think there are a lot of good, honest people out there who know it.
