Ruth Madsen Nielsen, 83, of Orem, died June 13, 1992, in Provo.
She was born August 29, 1908, a daughter of William Lars and Karen Marie Petersen Madsen in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.She married James Lewis Nielsen, September 6, 1935, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Ruth was a teacher most of her life, teaching five years in Mt. Pleasant and seventeen years in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Ruth attended BYU and received her B.S. Degree. She retired in October of 1970.
Being an active member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints has been one of her main interests having served in Primary, Relief Society and Young Women's programs. She and her husband served in the Provo Temple for thirteen years. She also has a great love for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of Orem, two sons and one daughter; James and Nadeane Nielsen of West Bountiful, Allen and Artie Nielsen, of Austin, Texas. Her daughter, Mrs (Neil) Carol Jarvis of Rogers, Ark. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, her sister and husband, Esther and Verl
Ogdenof Richfield.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 16, 1992 at 11:00 a.m.in the Vermont First Ward Chapel 400 North 400 East in Orem. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 at the ward chapel prior to services. Burial will take place in the Spring City cemetery, Spring City, Utah.
