Thailand's interim Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun has announced his Cabinet, recalling most of the technocrats and academics who served in the one-year post-coup government he set up in March last year.

The 24-member Cabinet, which was to be sworn in Monday by King Bhumibol Adulyadej, is scheduled to stay in office for only four months ahead of fresh elections.Anand was appointed by King Bhumibol June 10 to replace disgraced ex-Prime Minister Gen. Suchinda Kraprayoon, an unelected former army chief, who was forced to resign last month by massive and bloody protests.
