Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday for a $7.5 million bond election to expand the Oquirrh Park Fitness Center, 5624 S. 4800 West.

Residents in the area may vote at the center to decide whether the money should be spent on expansion. The bond would take about 20 years to pay back. The bond would raise taxes about $48 a year on a $48,000 home.The Oquirrh Fitness Center is run by a county recreation district, which taxes part of Kearns, Oquirrh, West Jordan and West Valley City. The area runs from 4700 South to 7000 South between 7200 West and 4800 West, plus a section extending east to 4000 West between 4700 South and 5780 South. Only those who live in the area will be eligible to vote.
