By winning their second championship in a row Sunday, the Chicago Bulls joined some elite company in National Basketball Association history.

Only six other teams have repeated as champs."John Paxson turned to me in the locker room and said, `What a long, strange trip it's been,' " recounted Bulls coach Phil Jackson.

"He wasn't just quoting the Grateful Dead. It has been a long, strange trip. Last year was the honeymoon. This year was an odyssey."

As for a three-peat? The Bulls were making no predictions.

"Beginning next season, that's when we focus on that," said Michael Jordan, the series most valuable player. "Right now, we just have to enjoy this one."

Added Jackson: "I'm not ready to think about that until October."
