LaVern Alice Steadman Ostler, age 82, passed away June 13, 1992 at her home in So. Jordan.

Born August 7, 1909 in West Jordan, Utah to Walter William and Mary Elizabeth Margetts Steadman. Married Stephen Thomas Ostler in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 22, 1928. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death July 24, 1984. LaVern was a loving wife and mother. With her husband, she nurtured, taught and raised 11 children."Mom, you showed such great love and patience. We are so thankful for your example and your hard work through the depression. You were always concerned about dad and your children."

LaVern loved genealogy work, sports, gardening and music; going for rides and watching her children and grandchildren play all sorts of sports. She always wanted to be where her children were.

Survivors: children, Lee H. (Joyce) Ostler; Deon T. (Julie) Ostler; Paul S. (Joan) Ostler, all Sandy; LaRee (Royce) Green, Lapoint, Utah; Galen (Donna) Oster, Murray; Neil W. (Sunny) Ostler; Joan (Delbert) Christensen, both West Jordan; Arlou Hatt; Delores (Larry) Powell, both South Jordan; Reed W. (Shauna) Ostler, Riverton; 58 grandchildren and 72 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Alva (Grace) Steadman, Elmer (Lottie) Steadman, Delvora King, Melba Edgecombe, all West Jordan; LeRoy (Gladys) Steadman, Midvale. Preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen Adora Ostler; grandson, Bruce R. Green; three great grandsons; sister, Viola Steadman.

Funeral services Wednesday, June 17, 1992, 12 Noon in the Jordan River 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 1570 West 11400 South. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State, Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, South Jordan City Cemetery.
