The Assistance League of Salt Lake City installed new officers for the 1992-93 year at a meeting at the University Park Hotel.
Newly elected officers are: Peggy Hansen (Mrs. Jerome R.), president; Linda Jacobsen (Mrs. Edward M.), president-elect; Edna Anderson-Taylor (Mrs. Jerald M.), projects vice president; Pat Button (Mrs. F. Robert), ways and means vice president; Carol Oliver (Mrs. Paul), membership vice president; Sheilah Jones (Mrs. George D.), recording secretary; Sherrill Scheinblum (Mrs. Robert), corresponding secretary; Afton Zoumadakis (Mrs. Steve), treasurer; Sharon Smith (Mrs. Rod), assistant treasurer; Peggy Dean (Mrs. Leon), arrangements; Kaye Neilson (Mrs. Brent L.), provisional chairman; Marjorie Campbell (Mrs. Lyle K.), public relations; Alice Larkin (Mrs. A. James), regional representative; Vicki Haig (Mrs. James), alternative regional representative; and Pat Panos (Mrs. Thomas), thrift shop chairman.After completing one year of provisional training, new active members for 1992-93 are: Gerri Allred, Suzanne Bell, Kitty Curtin, Barbara Dorius, Wilma Gamble, Louine Holt, Susan Keegan, Carolyn Kump, Mary Lines, Margaret May, Yvonne McKnight, Shirlee Minson, Carol Peterson, Julia Reagan, Barbara Stevenson, Ramona Woodhead, Jeanne Zaccheo. Welcomed as new associate members are Joyce Gorder, Deane Jones-Engstrom and Vella Pattee.
New provisional members include Lucille Barnes, Louise Churchill, Anita Fish, Patty McNeer, Griff Schmertz, Lisa Lyngle, Gerri Wallace, Susan Dowell, Linda Bigham, Suzy Mihalopoulos, Florence Wilson, Josephine Smith, Sue Hoeppner, Mary Jo Kaly, Gloria Rendon, Clara Richardson, Lottie McKay; provisional associates are Helen Lowen, Pam Joklik and Gail Worth.
Assistance League of Salt Lake City is a charitable, non-political, non-sectarian organization. It is a chapter of National Assistance League and is dedicated "to act as a friend at any or all times to men, women and children in need of care, guidance and assistance, spiritually, mentally and physically."
Assistance League has six philanthropic projects: Operation School Bell, Book Bank, Kids on the Block, Senior Citizens' Specialty Service and Blood Pressure Screening and Brighter Tomorrows. All projects are funded through the Assistance League Thrift Shop (Bargain Box), located at 2060 E. 3300 South in Salt Lake City. The shop is staffed by volunteer members and all proceeds are returned to the community. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
