An Idaho Falls pizza parlor employee is $57.50 poorer after paying for a box of rocks he thought was flu vaccine.
Police in Coeur d'Alene, Twin Falls and Oregon have reported similar scams.David Weinclaw of Little Caesar's Pizza said a man calling himself Dr. F.P. Wilson called Saturday. He asked Weinclaw to accept delivery of a box of flu vaccine because no one would be at his home to receive it.
About 30 minutes later, a man showed up at the business with a package. Weinclaw paid the delivery charges.
Weinclaw soon became suspicious. After he couldn't find a Dr. Wilson in the phone book, he opened the box and found rocks wrapped in newspaper.
In Coeur d'Alene, a man also identifying himself as Dr. Wilson bilked two businesses out of $100 in the same manner on May 28, asking them to accept delivery of vaccines.
