Reynolds, the 400-meter world record-holder and 1988 Olympic silver medalist, was suspended for two years by the International Amateur Athletic Federation, the sport's worldwide governing body, after allegedly testing positive for steroids in 1990.The IAAF has said that if Reynolds participates in the Olympic trials June 19-28 it will suspend any athlete competing in his event - an action that could deprive the United States from having anyone compete in the 400 meters in Barcelona.
