Else Anna Gertrude Maria Kersten Goff ("Muttie") passed away June 13, 1992 after a valiant struggle following open-heart surgery.
She was born September 19, 1925 in DeusHberg, Germany to Heinrich and Wilhelmina L Kersten; raised in Dusseldorf and Koln. She met James Clive Goff in Germany when he was serving with the U.S. L Army during World War II, and after a longdistance courtship, emigrated to Utah in 1949 to marry him.
They were wed on February 1, 1949 in Bingham Canyon, Utah, where they lived until 1958 when they moved to
Herriman to raise their family.
She is survived by her stepmother, Ottie Kersten, sisters and brothers, Wilhelmina Seidel, Heinrich Kersten, Ursulla Bach and Rolf Kersten, all of Germany; three sons, Ralph H. Goff of Salt Lake; Max K. and Martha Goff of Salt Lake, and Rex C. and Lisa Goff of Herriman; three grandchildren, Dustin, Cheyene and Tyrell; numerous nieces, nephews, inlaws, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 17, from 6 8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., June 18, also at Goff Mortuary. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy.
