You want to make a smooth puree of some cooked ingredient. Do you turn to a blender or a food processor?

Either one, but you use them differently. In a blender, add a little liquid with whatever food you want to puree. In a food processor, add only the food solids, no liquid. If there is too much liquid, the processor will tend to chop instead of puree.

In general, an old-fashioned blender will turn out silkier, smoother purees.
