Horses hunker down against the weather as they pull a vintage stagecoach through snow at Zephyr Cove on Lake Tahoe's east shore Monday. The June snowstorm was part of a weather system that dumped rain or snow on much of the Intermountain West, including Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Montana and as far east as Rapid City, S.D. Another storm triggered at least 16 tornadoes Monday in north-central Kansas that injured two people, damaged dozens of homes and knocked down power lines. In Minnesota, lightning and tree branches shaken down by wind up to 55 mph knocked out power Sunday night to at least 10,000 customers of Minneapolis-based Northern States Power Co.
