Joseph Edward Kemme, age 67, died Sunday, June 14, 1992 at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 13, 1925 in Denver, Colorado to Frank and Cora Keller Kemme. He married Nyla Lee Schiereck of Dighton, Kansas on November 24, 1945. Together they had three children, John, Gary and Kathryn.Joseph served in the Merchant Marine during World War II, after which he graduated form the University of Denver in 1948. He worked for Los Alamos Scientific Laboratories in Los Alamos, New Mexico as a nuclear physicist from 1956 until his retirement in 1980. Since his retirement, Joseph and his wife have made their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Salt Lake City and finally St. George, Utah in 1991.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Nyla Lee, his son, John and wife, Suzette, Salt Lake City, Utah; his daughter, Kathryn and husband, Craig Lahlum, Scotsdale, Arizona; two granddaughters, Brittney and Ashley and his sister, Corrine Polak, Denver, Colorado.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 1992 at 10 a.m. in the St. George City Cemetery. The family request that contributions be made to the American Lung Association, 1930 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106 in lieu of flowers. Interment will be under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
