The Brigham Young University "Bright Ideas" summer program is celebrating the international space year by offering two exploration courses for students.
Elementary Explorers, for kindergarten through sixth-graders, will be at Suncrest Elementary School in Orem from July 13 to 23. Students will learn about dilemmas, places and cultures experienced by explorers around the world. Students also will create the technology and inventions used by explorers.The Junior High Space Academy will be July 27-31 in the Snell Industrial Arts Building at BYU. Participants will design a mission to Mars, including experiences with lasers, robotics and computer-aided design. They also will attend the Christa McAuliffe Space Center in Pleasant Grove.
Tuition for each course is $95.
