Three people believed to be responsible for a series of burglaries were arrested Monday after two officers staked out a restaurant in anticipation of their next move.
Sunday night, a Salt Lake County restaurant and a Salt Lake City furniture store were burglarized, while burglars unsuccessfully attempted to enter two Subway restaurants. Dispatchers warned deputy sheriffs about the burglaries, and deputy sheriff Alan Morley, with the help of Draper police officer Debbie Orr, began watching the Subway restaurant in his patrol area at 1804 W. 12600 South. The officers noticed a suspicious Bronco near the restaurant about 3 a.m. Monday and later saw two men running behind the business, said deputy sheriff Jim Potter. Morley chased the men, capturing one of them, and Orr chased after the Bronco, capturing the female "getaway driver."
The third suspect was later arrested, and prosecutors were screening possible burglary charges against the three of them.
