Doctors notified the Salt Lake County sheriff's office after noticing bruises on the 26-year-old Millcreek woman. Investigators looked at the possibility that the woman may have been beaten or abused, which caused the unborn baby to die.But an autopsy late Tuesday revealed that the unborn child did not die as a result of any trauma. And the bruises on the mother actually were signs of decomposition occurring within the womb, said sheriff's Capt. Bill Van Wagenen.
