The Crazy 8s, a popular non-mainstream rock group from Portland, Ore., will headline a fund-raising bash on Thursday, June 18, at 8 p.m. in the Provo Armory, 200 W. 500 North.

Local ska favorite Stretch Armstrong will open the show, which has been scheduled to take a bite out of hunger. All proceeds from the concert - including cash and food - will be donated to the Provo Food Shelter. The cover charge is $5 with a can of food or $10 without.

Crazy 8s has performed frequently at the Zephyr Club in Salt Lake and is popular with the collegiate nightclub crowd. Benefit organizer Richard Lance described them as "talented musicians with a quirky sense of humor who don't cater to `corporate rock' America."
