A man accused of shooting a rival gang member in front of the Crossroads Plaza in April has pleaded guilty.

Antwon Warren, 19, was charged with attempted murder, a second-degree felony, in connection with the shooting of Antone Santos. But Warren pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, as part of a plea bargain with prosecutors.Santos, also 19, testified last month that he was waiting for a bus at 50 S. Main on April 11 when a man he'd never seen before walked down the street near him. Santos apparently taunted him with a gang-related term that introduced Santos as a member of a street gang.

Warren allegedly retorted that he was a member of a rival gang and the two began fighting. Warren pointed a gun at Santos as Santos and two others who were fighting with Warren began to run away, Santos testified. Santos was shot in the back.
