Kathy Weir, left, is comforted by a neighbor as they inspect the damage done to Weir's home in Dunn, Wis., after a tornado tore through parts of Dane County in central Wisconsin. At least 30 people were injured. Deadly tornadoes and thunderstorms battered Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio for the third straight day, tearing a roof off a Wisconsin prison, destroying scores of homes and leaving parts of Chicago and other cities without power. In Indiana, storms spun off at least 10 tornadoes and unleashed 3 to 5 inches of rain that caused flooding. At least seven people were hurt, including a highway worker who was critically injured when he was hit by a falling tree and a man who was trapped in his bed by a tree that fell through his roof. At least 110,000 homes and businesses in northern and central Indiana lost power. At least 12 tornadoes touched down in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, but damage was limited.
