Nevada Gov. Bob Miller broke a bone in his foot while playing basketball.

"I defied the laws of gravity," the 47-year-old Miller joked. "It seems impossible to have broken it when I only jumped one to two inches in the first place."Miller hurt himself Tuesday night during a recreation league game in Las Vegas.

Mike Campbell, his spokesman, said Miller was released from a hospital early Wednesday. The governor will wear a walking cast.
