Charles L. Doane left his final meeting as a member of the Medical Care Advisory Committee Thursday quietly, with less fanfare than panelists would have liked.
Doane has served as chairman of the committee for more than five years. During that time, the committee grew into a board that helps the Health Department make decisions and shape policy that affects thousands of Utahns."Advisory committees can be perfunctory committees that meet and everyone smiles and they don't do anything. Or it can be lively and vital," said Dr. Suzanne Dandoy, department director. "I've increasingly looked at the MCAC as part of the process of running Medicaid and the medical-assistance programs," Dandoy said.
She lauded Doane for his part in shaping the committee and thus, Utah's medical-assistance programs for low-income families.
