The 4th Judicial District Nominating Commission has submitted three names to Gov. Norm Bangerter for his consideration in replacing retiring 4th District Judge George E. Ballif.
The nominees are Lynn W. Davis, a 4th Circuit Court judge; Ray Gammon, assistant state attorney general; and Howard H. Maetani, a 4th District court commissioner.The nominating commission screened 17 applicants and conducted interviews. The governor has 30 days to make his selection, and then the Utah Senate has another 45 days to confirm or reject the selection.
The 4th Judicial District includes Juab, Millard, Utah and Wasatch counties.
