Phil Donahue plans to do his talk show at least through the 1994 season, but after that his plans are sketchy."I'm a political junkie," he told TV Guide in its latest issue. "I think it would be exciting to be in Congress."
He does see possible pitfalls, though. "In many ways it would be taxing: How many nights a week would I have to be out?"
Donahue also said that a race for political office would be tough.
"I have no exaggerated notion of my own electability," he said. "I've criticized the church, the government - I have my baggage. I'm not at all sure I'd politically survive the first negative ad by my opponent."
