A bullet was fired through the front window of a busy Taylorsville restaurant over the weekend, but no one was injured.

The drive-by shooting occurred at the Village Inn, 4681 S. Redwood Road, just after 11 p.m. Friday. The bullet went through a large double-paned window that faces Redwood Road and then fragmented into the ceiling, a Salt Lake County sheriff's report states.None of the patrons, including a sheriff's lieutenant who happened to be inside the restaurant, observed anyone with a gun or anyone driving by who may have had a gun.

Investigators said a man had been arrested at the restaurant sometime before the shooting and had threatened retaliation. Detectives were looking at the possibility that the two incidents, which may be gang-related, are connected.
