A 3rd District Court bailiff has been elected as the fifth grand vice president of the International Footprinters Association.

Salt Lake County deputy sheriff Stan Jacobson was elected to the position during the organization's national convention in Ocean Shores, Wash. The organization is a law enforcement support group composed of police officers, judges, attorneys, civic and business leaders.Jacobson currently serves as grand board director of the Salt Lake Footprinters Antelope Island Chapter No. 3. As fifth grand vice president, Jacobson could become president of the international organization in five years. That would likely mean Salt Lake City will host the annual convention then, he said.

Jacobson has worked for the sheriff's office for seven years and has been a member of Footprinters for 33 years.
