When Dr. Seuss penned "Oh the Places You'll Go," he could have been speaking to the Hillcrest High School Class of '92, according to student speaker Lori Hill.

"Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to great places, you're off and away! You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose," she quoted during commencement exercises Thursday night.Jax Pettey emphasized success: "The world wants us to succeed; our friends want us to succeed. The only thing left to do is succeed."

"In school, one lives a day-by-day existence," Chad Curtis said. "This tends to make a person lose sight of the truth about time. It is not merely a repetition of events or things which come and go each day, but a progression from beginning to end."

Michael Voss warned of the realities that follow high school graduation. "We must fuel the future with the pride of the past in order to ensure hope for a brighter tomorrow," he said.

"You are looking back on the past with pride. You are looking into your future. You can become whatever you want to become. You can look forward with hope," Elizabeth Montague said.
