Dr. Perry Charles Gillette, Sr., born August 7, 1913 in Tooele, Utah, to Perry Chappell and Minnie Viola Hardy, died of cancer, Friday, June 5, 1992 at his home.

Married April 6, 1938 to Vonda Mae Shaffer; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1955. She preceded him in death Jan. 16, 1980. Married Isla Rice Smith, Dec. 13, 1980.Survived by his wife, Isla; one son, two daughters, two stepdaughters and their families, Perry Charles Gillette, Jr. (Linda Reese), Judith Gillette Merkley (John), Kathryn Gillette Harding (Dan), Ethlynn Smith Kaiser (Sam) and Annette Smith Davis (Wayne); 21 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Smith and Marjorie Gillette.

Active member of the LDS Church. Served as a Bishop's counselor and High Priests Quorum leader. Served as a Branch President in Sharon, Pennsylvania. A Pathologist at Sharon General in Sharon, Pennsylvania, Cody Memorial in Cody, Wyoming and LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah until his retirement in 1979.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 12 noon in the Eagle Gate 20th Ward, "G" Street and 2nd Avenue. Friends may call at

Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the ward Thursday from 10:45-11:45 a.m.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
