SANDY-Thora Perkins Long Snarr, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed to the arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 7, 1992.
Thora was born in Cub River, Idaho, July 22, 1911, to Rufus C. and Lettie Perkins Long. She married Raymond D. Snarr, July 3, 1933, in Farmington, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Raymond preceded her in death and has waited twenty long years for her to join him.She is survived by her mother, Lettie Long, Logan; sons, Kendall, Vernon; Don, Copperton; daughters, Eileen, Murray; Janet (Mrs. Don
Rogers), Alpine; 13 loving grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wendell Long and Reed Long, Cub River, Idaho; Verl Long, St. Anthony, Idaho; four sisters, Myrle (Mrs. Claire Pierce), Salt Lake City; Leola (Mrs. Ralph Ash), Logan; Vonda (Mrs. Forrest Odekirk), Huntsville; Rayma (Mrs. Lafe Jepson), Preston, Idaho. She was also preceded in death by father, Rufus Long; and brother, Bryce Long.
Thora enjoyed the out-of-doors and loved working hard in her garden. She could make anything grow, and people would come from miles around to buy her fruits and vegetables. Thora loved to dance, and her children still remember her efforts to teach them the Charleston. She loved music and played the harmonica for the enjoyment of her family and friends.
The family wants especially to thank the wonderful staff of St. Joseph Villa, who gave Thora such loving and tender care the last year of her life.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 12, 1992, 11 a.m. in the Fairoaks Ward Chapel, 586 East 8400 South. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Friday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
