The 72 graduates from Davis County's Mountain High School were admonished to be positive and were congratulated on their achievements outside of the ordinary high school system during commencement exercises held Monday evening at Farmington Junior High School.

Student speaker Angela Dashnaw told fellow students to be positive in her talk on "From the Past to the Future." She said to look ahead but related how quickly the time had passed during the high school years.Jake Burningham, another student speaker, explained how much his attitude had changed since first arriving at Mountain High.

Student speaker Ctasy Kerr thanked the staff of the school for their support encouragement. She said there are many memories to treasure from the school.

"Well, guys, we did it after four years of hard work, struggles, tears, laughter and friendships," she said.

Students Deann Fullmer and Marcy Jewett also spoke.

The remainder of the program included various scholarship presentations and school director/principal Betty Brand presenting the graduates. Ray Briscoe, a member of the Davis Board of Education, awarded diplomas to the graduates.

Mountain High is an alternative school, with facilities located east of Davis High in Kaysville.
