Democratic candidate for attorney general Scott Daniels has been endorsed by the Utah Chapter of the Sierra Club.
"Judge Daniels is by far the most informed candidate on environmental issues," Mike Binyon, chairman of the Sierra Club's political committee, said in making the organization's first-ever endorsement of an attorney general candidate.Daniels pledged to use the resources of the attorney general's office to protect the environment and has encouraged public scrutiny of bargains struck between the state and private businesses on environmental issues.
"Along with the members of the Sierra Club, I am concerned that we protect our clean air and clean water so that we have a legacy to pass on to our children and grandchildren," he said.
Daniels resigned from the 3rd District Court bench last April to run for attorney general. He is opposed in the primary by Utah Solicitor General Jan Graham.
