Y. CHEMISTRY STUDENT WINS SCHOLARSHIP TO SYMPOSIUM

A Brigham Young University chemistry student one of two graduate students worldwide to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to attend the International Ion Chromatography Symposium in Linz, Austria, Sept. 21-24.

Robert Smith, who is in the third year of his doctoral research on "Macrocycle-Based Ion Chromatography," will present his work at the symposium to a group of several hundred scientists from around the world.The work he will showcase focuses on a novel method for separating chemical species for analysis.
