PROVO - Elinor Peace Bailey will provide an evening of fun and enchantment on "Cloth Dolls and Beyond" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the McCurdy Doll Museum, 246 N. 100 East.
Bailey, national lecturer, teacher and entertainer, will not only lecture on cloth dolls but will also conduct dollmaking classes Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.Reservations for the lecture and the class must be made in advance by calling the doll museum at 377-9935 or the Stitching Corner at 482 N. Freedom Blvd., 374-1200, co-sponsors of the class. Patterns, fabrics and instructions must be picked up in advance of the class at the Stitching Corner.
Admission to the lecture is $5. The dollmaking class is $25 plus pattern.
Other attractions at the Doll Museum in September will include the appearance of Michelle Clisse, the creator of "Ophelia, the Bear" and her stories. Clisse will be in Provo for a tea party and program at the museum Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
The museum will also celebrate the 75th birthday of Raggedy Anne with a monthlong exhibit from private collections and a tea party and storytelling on Saturday, Sept. 26. Call the museum for more information.
