WALKER GETS GO-AHEAD TO MOVE CARTOON MUSEUM

"Beetle Bailey" cartoonist Mort Walker got the go-ahead to move the International Museum of Cartoon Art to Florida.

"My heart can't stop beating. We started this process two years ago and it is finally moving ahead," said Walker, 69.The Boca Raton Community Redevelopment Agency on Tuesday agreed to lease the land needed for the museum to Walker for $1 a year.

Walker must raise 75 percent of the money for the $8.8 million museum, scheduled to open in 1995.

Walker is relocating the museum from Rye, N.Y. The suburban New York museum closed on June 30.
