Retired Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf says it's OK for leaders to cry.
Schwarzkopf, who led the allied forces in the Persian Gulf war, offered the advice to professors in the University of Richmond's new leadership school."I hope you will teach being a leader isn't always easy and isn't always fun," Schwarzkopf said. "I hope you teach that it's OK to dare to care, to be emotional, to feel your leadership, to cry, to be passionate."
The 58-year-old retired Army officer was given an honorary degree from the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at its dedication Wednesday.
