Jon Huntsman Jr. has been sworn in as the new U.S. ambassador to Singapore.

Brother Huntsman, 32, of the Mt. Olympus 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Mt. Olympus Stake, is the youngest U.S. ambassador. He was sworn in Aug. 28 by U.S. District Judge Bruce Jenkins. He was confirmed by the Senate on Aug. 7, after passing the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.He served a full-time mission to Taiwan and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese, plus several other dialects. He was senior vice president for international affairs at the Salt Lake City-based Huntsman Chemical and served as deputy assistant secretary of commerce in East Asia.
