Harold James Hansen, 80, of Richfield, died September 12, 1992 in Provo.

He was born September 6, 1912 in Elsinore, Utah, a son of Andrew Hansen and Olive Sorenson. He married Elinore Bell. They were later divorced. He married Renon Hickman November 20, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah.He graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, where he was a member of Sigma Chi. While in school, he was active in athletics, winning college letters in football, basketball, and track. Through his lifetime, he was an avid sportsman, enjoying golf, hunting, and fishing.

He was a member of the Richfield Lion's Club for over 30 years, serving as president and on numerous committees to build and maintain the Richfield Lion's Park.

He was employed with the Utah State Dept. of Health, as a Field Sanitarian retiring after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II. A member of the LDS Church, he served as a home teacher for many years.

As a father, neighbor, and friend, he gave willingly of his time and talents to bring happiness to others.

He is survived by his wife, Richfield; two sons and three daughters, Mrs. Joan Howard, Stanton, Calif.; Mrs. Delores Last, Provo; Kent and wife Sue Hansen, San Francisco, Calif.; Rodney and wife Malinda Hansen, Los Angeles, Calif.; Ann and husband Jeffrey Johnson, Salem, Oregon; 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; one brother, Thad Hansen; one son-in-law, Ronald Last; one grandson, Brandon Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 1992, at 1:00 p.m., in the Richfield 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 200 West 400 North, Richfield, Utah. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050.
