HOT-CEREAL FANS URGED TO HEAT UP GRAPE-NUTS

Hot-cereal consumption is highest in January and February, and Salt Lake City and Boise are the hot-cereal capitals of the United States.

General Foods is promoting Post Grape-Nuts cereal as a good alternative to "bland, lumpy" hot cereals. The company's hot recipe: Combine 1/4 cup Grape-Nuts, 1/4 cup milk and 1 teaspoon each (optional) honey and margarine in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook at high 1 minute. For four servings, use 1 cup each cereal and milk, 1 tablespoon each of the optional ingredients and cook on high 2 minutes.
